RBI: The Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) led by the new Governor Sanjay Malhotra on Friday reviewed the current global and domestic economic scenario and discussed the draft report for the banking trends and its progress in India for 2023-24.

The Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), guided by its new Governor Sanjay Malhotra, on Friday, reviewed the current global and domestic economic scenario and discussed a draft report on the trends and progress in banking in India for 2023-24.

The 612th meeting of the Central Board of Directors of the Reserve Bank of India was held today in Guwahati under the chairmanship of Sanjay Malhotra, Governor. The Board conveyed its deep appreciation for the invaluable services rendered by Shaktikanta Das as the Governor of the bank during his tenure.

During the meeting, the tenure of Shaktikanta Das and the next steps were considered. The meeting also covered activities of select central office departments, as well as deliberated on the draft report on “Trend and Progress of Banking in India, 2023-24”. Other participants included RBI deputy governors Michael Debabrata Patra, M Rajeswara Rao, T Rabi Sankar, and Swaminathan J as well as Department of Financial Services Secretary Nagaraju Maddirala.
