Meta's popular messaging platform WhatsApp has introduced a unique in-app scanning feature for iOS users. This new feature is part of the latest update (version 24.25.80) for WhatsApp on iOS devices. With the help of this feature, users can scan documents directly from the document-sharing menu of the app. With this, users will no longer need third-party scanning tools and users will also find it very easy.

The in-app scanning feature was first spotted in the changelog of the latest update by WABetaInfo. WABetaInfo is a platform that tracks WhatsApp updates. The feature is being rolled out gradually, with more and more people expected to reach it in the coming weeks. The tool is designed to expand WhatsApp's capabilities as a comprehensive platform for communication and document exchange.

Open the document-sharing menu and select 'Scan' from there. This will automatically turn the camera on in your device to capture the document in view. Preview and adjust your scan, if needed, after you have scanned something.

Herein, the app automatically detects the margins. Users will also be given manual adjustment options to choose from and confirm that everything is well-framed and sharp. Later, it will be confirmed because you can share this immediately in a chat/ group inside WhatsApp.

This will rule out the use of third-party applications once this feature is introduced. This new feature will definitely be a boon for people who want to share any document in a very quick manner. WhatsApp has worked on the scan quality to keep the documents clear and readable, hence making it really useful for personal and professional purposes.

As of now, only some iOS users are availing of this feature, while in weeks to come, it is expected to come out for more users in phases.
