No hearing on petition related to irregularities in BPSC exam; Supreme Court's decision
BPSC Exam: The court refused to consider the petition related to alleged irregularities in the BPSC exam held on 13 December 2024 and police action on the agitators protesting against it. A bench of Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice Sanjay Kumar, and Justice KV Vishwanathan asked the petitioner to approach the Patna High Court with his grievances.

The Supreme Court has refused to hear the petition filed regarding alleged irregularities in the BPSC exam and police action on the protesters. On the petitions regarding the controversy over the BPSC exam, the apex court said it understands the sentiments, but the petitioner should approach the Patna High Court first.
Earlier, the court refused to consider the petition regarding the alleged irregularity in the BPSC exam conducted on 13 December 2024 and police action on the agitators against it. The bench headed by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice Sanjay Kumar, and Justice KV Vishwanathan asked the petitioner to go to Patna High Court with his grievance.
The lawyer appearing for the petitioner Anand Legal Aid Forum Trust urged the bench to consider the petition, saying that the country has seen the brutality of Bihar Police on peaceful protesters. The protesting students are demanding the cancellation of the controversial Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination.
The CJI said that we are asking you to go to the Patna High Court. However, the lawyer said that this paper leak is a daily matter. The CJI said that we understand your feelings, but we cannot be a court of prima facie and we think it would be appropriate and more expeditious that the petitioner approaches the Patna High Court under Article 226 of the Constitution.
The lawyer told the bench that the place where the police lathi-charged the protesters was near the official residence of the Chief Justice of Patna High Court and suo motu cognizance could be taken on it. Bihar police allegedly used force on civil service aspirants demanding cancellation of the BPSC exam held on December 13, 2024.
The state Public Service Commission has ordered a re-examination on January 4 at 22 centers in Patna for some candidates. Of the 12,012 candidates eligible for the re-examination, a total of 8,111 downloaded their admit cards and only 5,943 appeared for the exam. Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor, who was on an indefinite fast at Gandhi Maidan in Patna demanding a re-examination, was arrested and later released on bail.
