Warning of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu due to cyclonic storm, 118 long-distance trains canceled from December 3 to 7
Tamil Nadu: The Meteorological Department said on Saturday that the pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal may turn into cyclonic storm Michong on December 3. Due to this, there may be heavy rain in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, heavy rain occurred in many areas of Tiruvallur and Chengalpattu districts of Tamil Nadu on Saturday. Many trains are also being canceled.
The Chennai Meteorological Department issued a warning of rain, storm, and lightning for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for the next three hours. The Meteorological Department said on Saturday that the pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal may turn into cyclonic storm Michong on December 3.
Due to this, there may be heavy rain in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, heavy rain occurred in many areas of Tiruvallur and Chengalpattu districts of Tamil Nadu on Saturday. Chief Secretary Shiv Das Meena reviewed the precautionary measures regarding the storm with senior officials.
Chennai International Airport authorities also reviewed preparations to deal with Cyclone Michong. South Central Railway has canceled 142 trains. Chief Minister MK Stalin said that ministers, MPs, MLAs, and local body members should help the people in their respective areas.
