Congress CEC meeting today, churning on Lok Sabha seats; Doubt over many senior leaders contesting elections
Lok Sabha Polls: A period of churning is going on among political parties regarding tickets before the Lok Sabha elections. The names of many candidates are likely to be approved in the Congress CEC meeting.
Before the Lok Sabha elections, churning is going on among political parties regarding tickets. BJP and Congress have released the first list of candidates. Meanwhile, the second meeting of the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the Congress Party will be held this evening at the Delhi AICC headquarters to discuss the tickets for the remaining seats.
This meeting will be presided over by Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge. Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi are also expected to attend. According to sources, this meeting has been called at 6 pm. Lok Sabha seats of Rajasthan, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand will be discussed.
It is noteworthy that on March 8, Congress announced the names of 39 candidates in its first list. In which tickets were given on Lok Sabha seats of Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Telangana and Tripura. Of the total 39 candidates declared, 16 are from Kerala, seven are from Karnataka, six are from Chhattisgarh and four from Telangana, two are from Meghalaya and Nagaland, one each from Sikkim and Lakshadweep.
