CERT-In has warned WhatsApp Web and Desktop users about malware attacks. Attackers can gain remote access to devices by sending VBScript files from compromised accounts.
According to Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), there is a large malware attack affecting WhatsApp Web and Desktop users. This attack will enable the criminals to gain control of devices and can create a serious problem.
It is recommended by CERT-In that WhatsApp Web and Desktop users should exercise caution when opening any file received by them, no matter whether it is received from a known person such as a colleague, family member, or friend.
