SMAT 2024: Mohammed Shami conceded a lot of runs in the initial overs against Baroda but took two wickets for just 3 runs in his last over.
Bengal and Baroda faced each other in Quarterfinal No. 1 of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024. Bengal won the toss and decided to bowl first and restricting Baroda to 172 runs. Around 200 runs were scored in T20 cricket on the pitch of M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, but due to the excellent bowling of Bengal, they could not even touch the figure of 180. In this match, Mohammed Shami conceded a lot of runs in the initial overs but took two wickets for just 3 runs in his last over. Shami created history as soon as he took the first wicket in this match and he has become the third Indian fast bowler to take 200 wickets in T20 format.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is on top of this list. Bhuvi took 90 wickets in T20 International and 39 wickets in domestic cricket. The total for T20 format is 310 by the Bhuvi and that keeps him foremost on this list.
At second position comes Jasprit Bumrah after Bhuvi. Bumrah has an aggregate of 295 wickets in T20 format, wherein he has taken 89 wickets in International T20 and 165 wickets in IPL. So far as domestic cricket is considered, Bumrah has only 44 wickets to his name. Shami has not been able to play international cricket since the 2023 ODI World Cup final and is ready to return again to the international pitch after recovering from injury post-surgery.
