In the 68th match of the IPL, Kolkata Knight Riders were shamefully defeated by 110 runs at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad. With this defeat, KKR's campaign has ended too. KKR's side was nowhere in the match. Captain Ajinkya Rahane delivered a surprising claim when KKR's campaign ended. According to him, we had close losses in two to three matches. We would have been first or second in the points table had we had those chances. We should inform you that KKR has won only five out of 14 matches and ended the league at the 8th spot.

Ajinkya Rahane, the captain of KKR, said of the game versus SRH that I feel they batted very well. Yes, we committed some errors during the bowling, but the manner in which they played, the Hyderabad batsmen took all the loose balls and played all the good balls too. All credit to the Hyderabad batsmen, their intentions were excellent.

Rahane said that we also discussed about slow balls, wide bowling, wide slow bowling, but sometimes if the bowlers do not implement the plan well then batsmen like Klaasen and all the SRH batsmen batted really well. We were weak in our execution part, but also made many mistakes during the innings as a bowling unit.

He further said that we had 2-3 close matches throughout the season, in which we felt that we did not play well as a unit as a team. Apart from that we tried our best, we gave our best. In this kind of format you have to switch on all the time. This IPL is really tough. As a team we had those chances, we would have probably been first or second in the table. But, no regrets, a lot has been learned from this season. We will come back even stronger next year.
