Instead of waiting on the platform if the train gets late, it is better to spend a few rupees and avail the service of retiring room. This room provides facilities like a luxury hotel. Only those passengers who have confirmed tickets or RAC can avail of the benefit of this service.

If you have a waiting or general ticket then you cannot avail of this facility. You get this retiring room at the railway station itself. In the retiring room, you can choose between a single bed, double bed and dormitory room. Apart from this, AC and non-AC facilities are also available in it. You can book this room for 1 hour to 48 hours. The charge for this room is Rs 20 to Rs 40.

• You can also book retiring rooms online. For this, you have to go to the official portal of IRCTC.
• On the portal, you have to select the option of retiring room.
• Now you can select the room of your choice.
• After selecting all the booking options, you have to select the payment mode.
• After payment, your booking will be confirmed and you will get the room number and location information on your mobile number.
