Similarly, Chief of Defense General Anil Chauhan also addressed a gathering of Army officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), and soldiers from 18 Grenadiers. The meeting was summoned on completing 25 years of war in the battle of Tololing and Tiger Hill during the 1999 Kargil War. Addressing the gathering, General Anil Chauhan said that due to technological development, the nature of the war is changing very swiftly. This alternation will have to be accepted by the country's armed forces.

The Indian Army has this day: Tiger Hill was under the control of the Indian Army on July 4, 1999. The 18th Grenadiers Battalion is one of the Battalions having worldwide fame for its performance in the Kargil War. Vijay Diwas unfolds every year on the 26th of July.

Addressing the gathering, General Anil Chauhan said, "The people of the country have faith in our capabilities, due to which we have this immense prestige. The legacy we have was earned by our ancestors. Even though we did not contribute to it, we are getting its fruits." He further said, "It also gives us responsibilities individually and collectively. As a soldier and a community, no one can make a mistake. Trust cannot be undermined."
