The opposition alliance INDIAA has decided that it will protest both inside and outside Parliament on Wednesday over the discrimination done with opposition-ruled states in the Union Budget. This decision was taken at a meeting of the leaders of the constituent parties of INDIAA on Tuesday evening at Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge's residence.

The meeting was attended by Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi, Deputy Leader of Congress in Rajya Sabha Pramod Tiwari, Deputy Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi, Chief of NCP Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena UBT leader Sanjay Raut, Trinamool Congress leaders Derek-O-Brien and Kalyan Banerjee, DMK's TR Balu, JMM's Mahua Majhi, AAP's Raghav Chadha and Sanjay Singh, general secretaries of Congress KC Venugopal and Jairam Ramesh, CPI(M)'s John Brittas, and scores of other leaders.

Venugopal said after the meeting that this year's Union Budget has already ended the concept of budget. They have completely discriminated against most of the states. Therefore, it was the consensus in the INDIA meeting that we should oppose it.

Later in a post on X, Venugopal said, "The Union Budget presented today was extremely discriminatory and dangerous, which is completely against the principles of federalism and fairness that the Central Government should follow."

In protest, Congress Chief Ministers will also boycott the Niti Aayog meeting to be held on July 27. He said that the attitude of this government is completely contrary to the constitutional principles.

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari alleged that the budget has put those states where there are non-BJP governments in the dark. He alleged that we will protest in Parliament tomorrow in this regard.
