India Go 2-1 Up Despite Suryakumar Yadav’s Continued Batting Struggles

India defeated South Africa by seven wickets in the third match of the five-match T20 series played in Dharamsala on Sunday.  With this, India has got a 2-1 lead in the series. Although it won the match, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has failed again. He scored a total of 12 runs in 11 balls. With this, he got another shameful record in his name. It must be noted that he hasn't performed well in front of his fans with the bat in a very long time. He hasn't got a single half-century in T20 matches in the last 10 matches. Yet he did a very strange thing.

Suryakumar Yadav is now the second player in the world with the lowest batting average in T20 international matches in a calendar year with a minimum of 200 runs as a captain. He has scored at an average of just 14.20 this year. The highest-scoring average in this list is Rwanda captain Clinton Rubagumya, who averaged just 12.52 in 2022. South Africa captain Aiden Markram is third, scoring at an average of 15.56 in 2024.

Suryakumar Yadav said after the match that the team learned a lot from the defeat in the previous match. Surya says he is not out of form. So far in this series, Surya has managed to score just 29 runs in three innings. He scored 12 in the first T20, 5 in the second, and 12 in the third.
