The 10th warm-up match of the T20 World Cup 2026 saw South Africa and India face each other. India played a brilliant game in this match held at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, securing a win by 30 runs. However, India has suffered another major blow in this match. After the injury of all-rounder Washington Sundar, fast bowler Harshit Rana too got injured.

After the return of the batsman Tilak Verma following a nearly month-long injury, the team faced yet another blow, but the injury to fast bowler Harshit Rana in the same match heightened the Indians' concern. Harshit Rana, who came in to bowl after the Indian batsmen had posted a massive score of 240 runs in 20 overs, had to leave the field due to physical discomfort.

The Delhi fast bowler's discomfort was evident when he failed to complete his run-up twice in the same over and backed off his delivery stride. Shortly thereafter, Harshit was seen holding his knee in pain and limping off the field. Thus, his match ended prematurely. Harshit bowled just one over in the match, conceding 16 runs.

At present, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not issued any official statement regarding the severity or nature of Harshit's knee injury. India already entered this warm-up match with a setback, as all-rounder Washington Sundar is out of the team due to an injury he sustained before the five-match T20 series against New Zealand.

The team's fast bowling attack in the tournament is led by Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh. All-rounders Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube are also part of the team, while Harshit Rana is a key part of the pace attack. 24-year-old Harshit has played nine T20 Internationals in his career so far and has taken the same number of wickets.

Speaking of the match, wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan's explosive half-century laid the foundation for India's victory. Ishan's quickfire innings, laced with seven sixes, helped the Indian batsmen hit a total of 19 sixes against South Africa. Ultimately, India won the match by 30 runs. India used a total of nine bowlers in the warm-up match, with batting all-rounders Tilak Varma and Abhishek Sharma also contributing three overs each.
