New Delhi (India), October 30: Celebrated Couturier, Abhinav Mishra presented REFLECTIONS, his Couture Runway Showcase 2023. Showcasing the Mirrorwork Maven’s surrealistic and magical world of mirrors, opulence and overall enchantment, the showcase presented a grand peek into the world of Abhinav’s imagination. With Reflections, the Couturier reflected on his beautiful journey, filled with perseverance, creativity, and dreams, and his love for minimalism and maximalism and how he strikes a delicate balance between the two with his creations and campaigns.
The inspiration for the show came from Mirrors. Similar to how a mirror reflects, the human mind and heart reflect on one’s experiences, evolution and journey. Even as a relatively new brand with only a few years in the industry, Abhinav has imagined a world beyond boundaries, a world where love, hope and ambition know no limits.
This show acted as a reflection into Abhinav’s journey, how he has evolved as a designer, a creator and even as a person, over the past few years. Celebrated with utmost grandeur and aplomb is how an evening with REFLECTIONS was envisioned and thereafter, presented. The collection was the perfect amalgamation of Abhinav’s favourite Couture pieces from over the years, including his resort wear, bridal collection, and menswear, all put together to celebrate his truly beautiful journey.
The showcase also presented a stunning and wide colour palette across signature lehengas, anarkalis, and shararas with Abhinav’s classic mirror work. It showcases colours across rani pink, powder blue, ivory, cream, sapphire blue, deep tones of maroon and more. A bride is the star of her special day, and her wedding and all the accompanying festivals of the year bloom in the hearts of her friends and family. Each and every ensemble that Abhinav creates is for a day as special as that.
Over the years, while Abhinav has adapted more modern techniques and glamour, he has ensured to retain the old-world soul of his label. His transformative vision has always aimed to redefine couture, through larger-than-life experiences and ensembles that reflect the dynamic and evolved sensibilities of the strong and independent woman of today.
After showstopping for Abhinav Mishra’s show, Mehzebeen in 2019, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja once again walked and closed the show, in a signature Abhinav Mishra ensemble. Sonam adorned a bespoke Anarkali Suit by Abhinav Mishra, called ‘NOORANI Anarkali.’A fully embellished Ivory suit, the grace of the Noorani Anarkali is reflected with Abhinav’s signature floral patterns, Gold Gota and Mirrorwork.
The evening also was a sneak peek into Abhinav Mishra X Needledust Couture Footwear Collection. The collection is outright glamorous and dominated by tones of taupe, gold, rose gold, champagne and silver along with bright and pop festive colours of marigold orange, ‘gulab’ red, rani pink, ‘haldi’ yellow on rich silks, tissue, organza and nets. The embroidery patterns are derived from the Mughal gardens and erstwhile Sindh motifs done with mirrors, sequins, beads and ‘gota’! The collection will showcase a range of Festive/Bridal shoes, for both men and women with a variety of shapes, colours and styles in mule heels, Kolhapuri heels, ‘juttis’ and Men’s ‘khussas’. The new collection will also feature never done before styles of necklines in ‘juttis’ and shapes and styles heels, that NEEDLEDUST is launching for the very first time.
The evening was designed by Rani Pink. Sharing creative sensibilities with the couturier, Anika Dhawan, Founder – Rani Pink took on from the concept of mirrors and reflections to create the magnanimous fantasy world which is an ode to the architectural style of Mughal India. Taking inspiration from the motifs and the layered arches of Mughal India, and Abhinav’s love for Mughal India, Rani Pink built a set with that along with his interpretation of this fantastical and whimsical world. The pre-function area had a 60ft bar built with reflective mirrors to welcome the guests for this Dawat. The brand mascot for the evening were the unbridled spirit of horses. The entire venue is like a Mughal Courtyard where very clean and masculine horses are in the centre, but at the same time there is fluidity and free spirit which is reflected in all his campaigns. Everything is larger than life.
To add to the vibrancy of Abhinav’s spectacular showcase, the special and timeless jewellery at the REFLECTIONS showcase has been specially curated by the legendary House of Rambhajos.

I can’t wait to show you guys what’s next.”
