State-run Mahanagar Gas (MGL) has cut the prices of CNG on Tuesday. The price of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) has been reduced by Rs 2.5 per kg.

The new price of CNG has become Rs 73.50 per kg.

In fact, given the reduction in gas input cost, new prices have been released from March 5 at midnight. The company's statement regarding the price of CNG came late in the evening.

The statement said that the price of CNG has now become 53 per cent cheaper than petrol at the current price level in Mumbai. At the same time, CNG has now become 22 per cent cheaper than diesel.

Reduction in the price of CNG will provide a direct benefit in increasing the consumption of natural gas.

In Delhi, petrol is being sold at the rate of Rs 96.72 per litre and diesel at the rate of Rs 89.62 per litre.
