China's Commerce Ministry has banned imports and exports from three American companies, including Boeing Defense. The ministry put General Atomics Aeronautical Systems on its list of untrusted entities and said it sold weapons to Taiwan.
China's Commerce Ministry also imposed sanctions on General Dynamics Land Systems as well as Boeing Defense, Space & Security. These companies will not be able to make new investments in China.
The companies' senior executives are currently banned from traveling to China. Their residence and visitor permits will also be revoked, along with their work permits. The ministry declared that they would not approve any related applications that they submitted.
China responded to the Biden administration's hiked tariffs on a number of Chinese goods, including computer chips, medical supplies, and batteries for electric vehicles (EVs), by taking this action.
