Dixit Patel is the owner of Jai Jalaram School, which is located near Godhra in Panchmahal district. NEET-UG exam was also conducted in this school. Dixit Patel was arrested from his residence. Government lawyer Rakesh Thakor says that the CBI has taken Dixit Patel to Ahmedabad to take him on remand. Rakesh Thakor said, 'The Gujarat government has handed over the investigation of the case to the CBI. Dixit Patel will be taken to the court in Ahmedabad to take him on remand.'
Earlier, on June 27, the CBI questioned Dixit Patel about irregularities in the NEET-UG exam. The CBI also recorded statements from several pupils' families. The principal and a teacher from Jai Jalaram School have already been detained in this case. Let me inform you that five offenders have already been arrested in Gujarat for tampering with the NEET. According to the police, there was a scam going on to pass the NEET exam by accepting money from kids.
The NEET-UG exam was held across the country on May 5. An examination center was also established at Jai Jalaram School. Dixit Patel is accused of charging students Rs 10 lakh to assist them pass the exam. A total of six accused have now been arrested from Gujarat on charges of irregularities in the NEET-UG exam.
