Sakibul Gani was born on September 2, 1999, in Motihari district, Bihar. His cricketing journey began not at a major cricketing center, but at a small local cricket academy. Sakibul is an aggressive right-handed batsman and a useful medium-fast bowler.

After representing India at the Under-19 level, he quickly rose to prominence in the Ranji Trophy. His debut match in the Ranji Trophy became a memorable moment in his life. In that match against Mizoram, he played a historic innings of 341 runs. This was a unique record for an Indian player to score a triple century in his first-class cricket debut. In this innings, he hit 56 fours and two sixes, showcasing his extraordinary talent to the entire nation.

Sakibul Gani's journey hasn't been easy. At one point, his family's financial situation was so poor that they couldn't even afford to buy a new bat. In such circumstances, his mother mortgaged her jewelry to buy him a bat. His elder brother, Faisal, recalled in a media interview that when Sakibul was going to play in the Ranji Trophy for the first time, his mother gave him three bats and said, "Go, son, score three centuries." Sakibul fulfilled his mother's dream by taking the field.

To date, Sakibul Gani has scored 2035 runs in 28 first-class matches, including five centuries and eight half-centuries. In List A cricket, he has played 33 matches and scored 867 runs, including two centuries and two half-centuries.
