Ishan Kishan, BCCI Central Contract 2024-25: Last year, BCCI had taken disciplinary action against Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan and excluded them from the central contract for not playing domestic matches. But now both these players have returned.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the central contract for 2024-25. For the first time, BCCI has included players in the A Plus category who do not play all 3 formats. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja all retired from the shortest form of cricket after they won the T20 World Cup last year, and even so, they were placed in the A Plus category.
Last year, there was some disciplinary action taken against Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan and both players were left out of the central contract due to their non-participation in domestic matches, but these two players have now returned. Shreyas Iyer was placed in the 'B' category which is worth Rs 3 crore per year, while Ishan Kishan was included in the 'C' category, earning Rs 1 crore per year.

Rishabh Pant has been promoted from 'B' category to 'A' category. Indian T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav and vice-captain Axar Patel have been placed in 'B' category. This category includes Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer.
The maximum number of 19 players have been included in the 'C' category. Ishan Kishan has also made a comeback in this category.
