Assam: Clash between Manipur Police trainees during dinner in Golaghat, seven injured

At the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy in the Golaghat district of Assam, a fight between two groups of cadets resulted in seven injuries to Manipur Police trainees. According to a senior officer, two trainees mistreated each other during dinner on Saturday night after they brought alcohol from the nearby market. But this little disagreement later escalated into a fight that left multiple trainees hurt.

After receiving initial care, four of the injured were released, while three were admitted to Jorhat Medical College. According to Assam Police DGP Gyanendra Pratap Singh, a fight broke out between adolescent Manipur Police trainees. He stated that the trainees have received explicit instructions on how to adhere to the training institute's rules and procedures, which cover everything from drills to discipline and manners. Nobody is permitted to stray from the academy's tenets. Training will be used to correct inappropriate behaviour.

According to DGP, the argument broke out over dinner service. He claimed that the issue has been settled as of right now. According to the academy official, senior IPS officer M Pradeep Singh has been dispatched by Manipur Police to assess the situation. The case is now with Manipur Police and the situation is under control.
