Arvind Kejriwal hopes for 'Supreme' relief from the court, hearing on bail petitions today

On August 23, the apex court allowed the CBI to file a counter affidavit in the case and gave Kejriwal two days to file a reply.
The Supreme Court will hear the bail applications of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today. He challenged his arrest by the CBI in the Delhi Excise Policy scam.
A bench of Justice Suryakant and Justice Ujjal Bhuiyan will take up the application. On August 23, the apex court allowed the CBI to file a counter affidavit in the case and gave Kejriwal two days to file a reply.
Kejriwal has filed two separate petitions regarding the non-granting of bail to him and his arrest by the CBI in the case. He has challenged the August 5 order of the Delhi High Court, which upheld the arrest of the CM.
The central investigating agency arrested the national chief of the Aam Aadmi Party on June 26. The apex court had on August 14 refused to grant interim bail to Kejriwal in the case and sought a response of the probe agency on his plea challenging his arrest.
