According to Air India, the aircraft, which was flying as flight AI102, left New York (JFK) for Delhi on March 15, but it was diverted to Shannon Airport due to a possible technical issue. The airline stated that the aircraft landed safely at Shannon Airport at 4:30 am today.
The spokesperson added that a detailed technical inspection of the aircraft is being conducted as per established safety standards. Air India said passenger safety was its top priority and that the precautionary decision was taken. According to data available from flight tracking website Flightradar24, the plane was diverted to Shannon after being in the air for about six hours.
