Air India changed business class to economy, Ricky Cage complained

Grammy award winner Ricky Cage on Saturday expressed displeasure over Air India downgrading his business class ticket to economy class on a Mumbai-Bengaluru flight.

Ricky Cage has accused the airline of downgrading the ticket without any prior notice. The airline said that the plane was completely converted to economy due to technical reasons. The incident took place in Delhi on Saturday.

The airline regretted the inconvenience caused to passengers due to the last-minute disruption and said that applicable refunds have been initiated. An Air India spokesperson said all passengers booked in business class were seated in the first row of the redesignated aircraft with one seat in the middle kept vacant.

On Saturday morning, three-time Grammy winner Cage said his business class ticket was downgraded without any notice and he was treated rudely by airline staff. Cage said this is the third time in the past one year that he has faced sudden service downgrading.

He has asked Air India to introspect on its ability to operate the airline. The Grammy winner said it is okay to have operational problems due to unforeseen circumstances. But, not providing quick and effective solutions for the same is absolutely a crime.
