Transport Ministry is finalizing the policy of using waste in road construction: Nitin Gadkari

This includes the provision of electric cables. At present the ministry is evaluating various technologies. It is also working on developing an electric highway between Delhi and Jaipur.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday said his ministry is finalizing a policy for the use of municipal waste in road construction. Let us tell you, on this Nitin Gadkari further said that the government is considering incentivizing construction equipment manufacturers to not use fossil fuels. “We are finalizing the policy of using municipal waste in road construction,” he said.
On this, Gadkari said that his ministry has taken several initiatives to decarbonise the transport sector and the government is also working on developing an electric highway between Delhi and Jaipur.

At present, the Ministry is evaluating various technologies.
The Union Transport Minister is also bringing a policy on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October. In which a policy will be prepared to use the waste from across the country in making roads. Due to this, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan will get a boost. Along with this, work worth Rs 65 thousand crores is being done in Delhi which will be completed by December.
