In first-class cricket, Tanmay Agarwal was unable to surpass Brian Lara's world record for the highest individual score (501*). He did, however, set a world record for the most sixes hit. At the Nexgen Cricket Ground in Hyderabad, Tanmay Agarwal, who amassed the fastest triple century in first-class cricket history, was out on Saturday after making 366 runs on the opening day of the Ranji Trophy Plate Group match against Arunachal Pradesh.

Tanmay Agarwal quickly reached 350 after playing ahead on the second day with a score of 323. Tanmay finished the innings with 26 sixes after adding five more to his total of 21 sixes. Tanmay broke Colin Munro's record for most sixes hit by a batsman in a first-class match innings. When Colin Munro, an all-rounder from New Zealand, played for Auckland against Central Districts in first-class cricket, he hit 23 sixes.

Shafiqullah Shinwari of Afghanistan, who scored 22 sixes for Kabul Zone against Boost, comes in third place on the list. Ishan Kishan and Shakti Singh combined for the record 14 sixes in Indian domestic cricket. It is now in Tanmay's name. This record had been destroyed by Aggarwal on the first day.

Along with MV Sridhar, Agarwal's 366 runs is the fourth-highest first-class score by an Indian. The record for the highest score is in the name of BB Nimbalkar, who scored an unbeaten 443 runs in the Ranji Trophy match between Maharashtra and Kathiawad. This is the only inning of his fourth century in the Ranji Trophy. Tanmay Agarwal scored 366 runs in just 181 balls with the help of 34 fours and 26 sixes at a strike rate of 202.21.
