SL vs IND: The Sri Lanka team suffered a major setback before the second ODI against India. Sri Lankan star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of the remaining two matches due to a hamstring injury.
After the first match of the three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka was tied, the second match is to be played in Colombo today August 4. Before this, bad news is coming for the Sri Lankan camp. Many Sri Lankan players are already out of the team due to injury, while now star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of the remaining ODI series against India due to a hamstring injury. In his place, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has included 34-year-old Jeffrey Vandersay in the team.
Sri Lanka Cricket Board, while giving information about the injury of its star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, said that while bowling the last ball of the 10th over in the first ODI against India, Wanindu felt pain in his left hamstring. After which his MRI confirmed the injury.
Before Wanindu Hasaranga, four major fast bowlers of Sri Lanka have been ruled out of the series. Dilshan Madushanka was ruled out due to hamstring, Mathisha Pathirana due to shoulder injury, Dushmantha Chameera due to bronchitis and respiratory infection and Nuwan Tushara due to thumb injury. Despite this, Sri Lanka managed to tie the first match.
