Rohit Sharma was dismissed for just 3 runs on the second day of the fourth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 being played between Australia and India. Rohit Sharma, who batted in the middle order in the innings of the last two Tests, came to bat up with Yashasvi Jaiswal in this match and started the innings. He could stay on the pitch for only 5 balls and returned to the pavilion after being caught while trying to pull Pat Cummins' ball on the leg side. After getting out in single digits in the first innings of Melbourne, another shameful record was registered in the name of captain Rohit.

Rohit Sharma did not play the Perth Test, and when he came back into the Adelaide Test, he decided to bat in the middle order without even touching the opening pair. In the Adelaide Test first innings also Rohit Sharma got out after scoring just 3 runs. He scored 6 runs in the second innings. He touched the double-digit mark in the Brisbane Test but could not take the score beyond that. Now, after getting out on a score of 3 runs in Melbourne, an embarrassing figure has been added to his name. Rohit has scored only 22 runs in this series so far.

Jasprit Bumrah has taken more wickets than Rohit Sharma in this series. He took 25 wickets in this series. While Rohit Sharma has scored only 155 runs in the last 14 innings, out of which nine times he has not been able to cross the double-figure mark. Seeing this form, cricket fans have started demanding his retirement. There are questions being raised over Rohit's captaincy. Most of the experts, too, are of the belief that Rohit Sharma will retire should India's case scenario of failing to reach the final of the World Test Championship. Now what's ahead, pretty much in-store, stays to be believed through assessment by Rohit Sharma.
