Relief to farmers due to purchase of mustard by government agencies, but customers upset due to increase in price

The government buys mustard, which benefits farmers, but as a result of this, mustard oil has become more expensive and requires consumers to pay more for it. Cinnamon's price has also increased. The price of pulses increased recently, and cumin, a spice, has followed suit, along with mustard oil. From Rs 260 per kg to Rs 385 per kg in just one month, cumin has become more expensive. Mustard oil now costs Rs 16 per kg more as a result of this.

According to experts, the primary cause of this is that government agencies are buying mustard. This has provided relief to the farmers but the common man has to spend more for mustard oil. Mustard oil has increased from Rs 1030 per 10 kg to Rs 1190 per 10 kg.

National President of All India Edible Oil Traders Federation and General Secretary of Confederation of All India (CAIT) Maharashtra, Shankar Thakkar said that the reason for the sudden rise in mustard oils is due to the game played by some big players. It seems that because in the international markets, There has not been a big increase in the prices of oils, but a big increase is being seen in the prices of domestic oils, especially groundnut, and mustard, although during the elections, government agencies have aggressively purchased mustard. This has provided some relief to the farmers and the prices have reached close to MSP. But customers are facing problems.

Experts say that the reason behind the rise in mustard prices in the last few days is the floods in Brazil, the soybean-producing country. Due to this, the demand for mustard oil has increased. Prices abroad also increased and the price of oil imported from there strengthened slightly. Another businessman Rahul Jain says that the production of mustard in the country is being said to be high, but now the production estimate is being said to be 25 percent less.

Mustard oil entrepreneur Govind Singh says that the prices of mustard oil have increased in the last few days. Similarly, the prices of its cake are increasing. He says that the rise is expected to continue further. Mustard prices have also increased due to demand from big factories not being met.

On the rise in the price of cumin, Mumbai-based spice wholesaler Hari Gala says that cumin is mostly produced in Gujarat. While the production of cumin has been good this year, considering last year's price, some multinational companies have stored it and farmers have stopped cumin from coming into the market, due to which the price of cumin is rising.
