PM Modi expressed grief over the deaths in Solapur fire incident , announced compensation
Solapur Fire: Eight people, including three women and a one-and-a-half-year-old child, died in a massive fire that broke out in a factory in Solapur district of Maharashtra on Sunday morning. The fire continued to rage in a textile factory for about 13 hours. Three firefighters were also injured while trying to control the fire. The incident took place at around 3:45 am at the Central Textile Mills located in Solapur MIDC.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his condolences over the loss in the Solapur massive fire tragedy. Eight people lost their lives in the mishap. The Prime Minister also declared an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh each to the kin of those who lost their lives. The PMO posted on 'X', 'I am saddened by the loss due to the Solapur fire mishap in Maharashtra. Condolences to the affected families who lost their loved ones. Speedy recovery to those who were injured. An ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh each from PMNRF to the families of each deceased person. An amount of Rs 50,000 each to be given to those who were injured.'
The mishap occurred on Sunday morning itself. The moment the fire report was received, fire tenders reached the site at once. 11 fire tenders were deployed to the site to douse the fire. Fireman Rakesh Salunke informed that the firemen too became injured during this rescue operation. 17 hours took to douse the fire.
The deceased include factory owner Haji Usman Hasanbhai Mansuri (80), his grandson Anas Hanif Mansuri (25), grandson's wife Shifa Anas Mansuri (20) and one-and-a-half-year-old great-grandson Yusuf Mansuri. The other four deceased were either employed in the factory or were their relatives. They have been identified as Mehtab Syed Bagwan (45), his wife Ashabanu (38), son Salman (20) and daughter Hina (26).
Earlier, in another incident in Hyderabad, Telangana, a fire broke out in a building at Gulzar House near Charminar, killing at least 17 people. Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Verma expressed grief over the tragic fire accident at Gulzar House near Charminar in Hyderabad. Eight children also died in the accident.
According to a statement issued by the Raj Bhavan on Sunday, the Governor expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the incident and wished the injured a speedy recovery. The Governor prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the accident.
