FDI: Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has claimed that there has been no decline in foreign direct investment (FDI) in India. In the last 11 years, India attracted FDI of $ 748.78 billion. Apart from this, FDI is coming to India from 112 countries.
There has been no decline in foreign direct investment (FDI) in India, according to Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. He stated that changes in global interest rates can lead to fluctuations in FDI.
The minister further mentioned that foreign investors are increasingly coming to India. The government is open to suggestions and should adopt measures to promote FDI. Over the last 11 financial years (2014-25), India has attracted FDI totaling $748.78 billion, which is 143 percent more than the $308.38 billion invested from 2003 to 2014.
Moreover, India is becoming the preferred choice for FDI, attracting investment from 112 countries—a significant increase from 89 countries in 2013-14. He highlighted India's growing global popularity among investors.
