Sports lovers living in Delhi NCR will get a chance to enjoy the test match between New Zealand and Afghanistan at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida. Players of both countries will play a test match here between 9th and 13th September. For the first time, the New Zealand team is coming to play in Greater Noida. The New Zealand board has also given the green signal for the test match. The members of the board will come to see the arrangements in the stadium.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given the green signal for this. The Afghanistan team will come to Greater Noida on 28 August. At the same time, the New Zealand team will come to Greater Noida on September 4. From August 29, the Afghanistan team will practice at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex. At the same time, the New Zealand team will practice from September 5.

Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex is the home ground of the Afghanistan team. The team has played a home series here before, but this will be the first time after the Taliban rule that the team will play here.

Earlier, a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches was to be held between Afghanistan and Bangladesh, but the series was canceled due to rain. The Afghanistan team last played a match in Greater Noida four years ago in 2020. The stadium hosted the ICC Intercontinental Cup match between Afghanistan and Namibia in April 2016. Afghanistan has also played a match here against Ireland.

After getting the green signal from the BCCI, preparations have been started by the authority before the match. The work of preparing the pitch has been started. The stadium has a capacity of about eight thousand spectators. However, all the facilities are available in the stadium complex. For the first time, a test match is going to be held between New Zealand and Afghanistan in Western Uttar Pradesh.
