'Never considered Jagan Reddy as an ally in Andhra Pradesh', PM Modi hopes - NDA will win unilaterally
PM Modi: The Prime Minister said that 'I do not think that the present government of Andhra Pradesh will come back to power. The economic condition of the state is bad. We never considered Jagan Reddy as our ally, although YSRCP definitely supported us in Parliament on many issues.
PM Modi is hopeful that the BJP-led NDA alliance will achieve a unilateral victory in Andhra Pradesh. The Prime Minister also said that he never considered CM Jaganmohan Reddy as an ally. PM Modi said this in an interview given to a Telugu news channel. The Prime Minister said that the ruling YSRCP will not return to power in the state.
In Andhra Pradesh, the BJP is contesting the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in alliance with Chandrababu Naidu's TDP and Pawan Kalyan's party Janasena. Regarding Jagan Mohan Reddy's party YSRCP, PM Modi said, 'We have fought elections against each other before as rivals and we have never fought elections together. I have a constitutional post and I want all states to become strong, no matter who is in power there. I want to see Andhra Pradesh developed like other states and this is also my constitutional responsibility.
In alliance with regional parties, PM Modi said, I believe that national parties should also respect the aspirations of regional parties. If regional parties are with us then it becomes easier for us to fulfill the aspirations of the people. We want more parties to join us in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. We will take our regional partners along and fulfill their goals and aspirations.
