The Mumbai Indians are having more problems in the run-up to the Indian Premier League 2025. The first one is that captain Hardik Pandya got ruled out of the first match and now Bumrah is not available to play the first match either. Team India's star pacer is currently undergoing rehab at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. He had been advised to take a break after a back injury in the last Test on tour in Australia. In view of his fitness, he has been advised by the medical team not to play in the Champions Trophy as well afterward.

Jasprit Bumrah had been selected in Team India's squad for the last match of the 3-match ODI series versus England but he got dropped from the team in a sudden move and was replaced by Harshit Rana. Harshit Rana replaced Jasprit Bumrah once more in the Indian team selected for the Champions Trophy. He is now in the limelight for being dropped from Mumbai Indians' first matches of IPL as well and that is a big blow for Mumbai Indians.

According to media reports, Jasprit Bumrah will not be seen playing at the start of IPL 2025. Bumrah is currently undergoing rehab at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. But he may remain out till the first week of IPL 2025. This means that even though Bumrah is bowling in the nets, he has not been able to become match-fit, due to which the medical team is forbidding him from playing matches till the first week of April. However, it is expected that Bumrah will join the team in the early season and will be a part of the practice.

However, Bumrah has started bowling at the Center of Excellence and it is expected that he will be available for the team from the first week of April. If Bumrah directly takes the field for Mumbai Indians in April, he will miss at least 3-4 matches, which is not good news for the franchise.
