Recently, Mark Zuckerberg commented in a podcast that elections were held in many countries after Covid-19 and governments of many countries including India fell. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had expressed displeasure over this statement of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Now Meta India has apologized for this comment of its owner.

He said on X, "Mark Zuckerberg's observation that many incumbent parties were not re-elected in the 2024 elections is true for many countries but not for India. We apologize for this inadvertent mistake. India remains an incredibly important country for Meta and we look forward to being at the centre of its innovative future.

Ashwini Vaishnav, Union Minister, took an attack on Mark Zuckerberg over the false claim regarding the Government of India. He said, "It's sad to see him spread misinformation." The Union Minister posted on X, "As the world's largest democracy, over 64 crore voters participated in 2024 elections. The people of India reposed their faith in the NDA led by PM Modi.". Zuckerberg's claim that most incumbent governments, including India, lost in the 2024 elections after Covid is factually incorrect.

On Meta India apologizing for Mark Zuckerberg's comment, the BJP MP said that it is a victory for the people of India.
