The fast bowler Mayank Yadav had a memorable international debut against Bangladesh. He was very nervous after the match. Mayank gave credit to his amazing captain Suryakumar Yadav for giving him freedom to bowl according to his strength. In IPL 2024, when Mayank was playing for Lucknow Super Giants, he caught everyone's attention with his speed. However, he couldn't play for long in the tournament as he got injured. He was out after playing a few matches, but this outstanding talent of fast bowling made a good recovery and made a place in the Indian team.

After India's seven-wicket win, Mayank said on the BCCI's official website, "This is a great moment because I am recovering from my injury. I was a little nervous this time, but I kept telling myself not to take stress, when I came to know that I would be playing my first match, the entire memories of the last four months came in front of my eyes. He said, "Suryakumar gives you freedom. He was telling me 'do what you like' when I was taking the run-up. It is so very important for any fast bowler, and when it is your debut ". Mayank created history by bowling the first over maiden and became only the third bowler from India to do it.

Apart from Mayank, the all-rounder Nitish Reddy was also given an opportunity to make his debut in the first series of this game. Mayank started off his international career with a maiden and picked up his first wicket in the very next over. He left his mark with figures of 1-21 in four overs. He said, "It felt good. I was not thinking that I am going to bowl a maiden over. Just wanted to live the moment, enjoy the moment." The second T20 match between India and Bangladesh will be played in Delhi on Wednesday.
