ISRO releases satellite images of Maha Kumbh look from space of tent city
Mahakumbh 2025: Photos of Triveni Sangam have also been shared on the website of the National Remote Sensing Center (NSRC). It also shows the construction of a temporary pontoon bridge, an India-shaped pagoda park in Prayagraj, which is spread over 12 acres of land.
On Wednesday, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) released before and after satellite images of the Maha Kumbh Tent City. The pictures give a glimpse of the grandeur of the Maha Kumbh. Crores of people from all over the world are coming to take a holy dip in the Sangam.
Mahakumbh, a major religious event held every 12 years, started in Prayagraj on January 13 and will continue till February 26 (45 days). So far more than eight crore pilgrims have taken a holy dip in the Sangam. A statement issued by ISRO said that the images taken from EOS-04 (RISAT-1A) 'C' band microwave satellite show a zoomed portion of Prayagraj Sangam and river Ganga. The images taken on three different dates show the construction of this historical site.
