In the DA case, the Supreme Court granted an OAS officer protection from arrest
DA Case: A vacation bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Rajesh Bindal granted relief to Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer Bijay Ketan Sahu in a money laundering case on the condition that he will appear before the special court. The apex court also issued notice to the anti-money laundering agency in the case and fixed July 29 for hearing the case.

On Monday, the Supreme Court granted protection from arrest to Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer Bijay Ketan Sahu in a money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for possessing disproportionate assets.
A vacation bench comprising Justices Abhay S Oka and Rajesh Bindal granted the officer relief on the condition that he appear before the special court. The Supreme Court also notified the anti-money laundering agency about the case and scheduled a hearing for July 29.
The Orissa High Court had earlier refused to grant anticipatory bail to Sahu, saying that a prima facie case was made out against the OAS officer. The federal agency is probing Odisha financial services officer Nalini Prusty and her husband, State Administrative Services officer Bijay Ketan Sahu, for allegedly amassing assets worth Rs 5.05 crore disproportionate to their known sources of income.
"Nalini Prusty and Bijay Ketan Sahu invested their illegal income in acquiring various land properties and making bank investments in the name of Debaki Prusty, mother of Nalini Prusty, which are disproportionate to their known sources of income," the ED said in a statement.
