On Thursday, India's Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, said that the country is discussing trade with those nations where it is neither in direct competition but whose economies can complement each other. Union Minister Piyush Goyal, at an event on UK-India Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation at the Science Museum, spoke about the bilateral as well as the overall global opportunities available through trade agreements.

He said, Our focus is on making strong trade agreements with developed countries. In his address, he also mentioned the trade agreements made with Australia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), along with the UK-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA). Goyal said that 15 years ago, when his party's government was not in power, India was more focused on making trade agreements with competing countries. He said, This is really foolish, because it is opening my market to my competitors, many of which have now become China's B team.

Earlier, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said in his address at the India Global Forum that amid global uncertainty, India can help the United Kingdom's economy grow rapidly. He said that at this time, the whole world is full of crises and challenges. Yet India is in a phase of stability, rapid growth.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal is on a two-day UK tour. There he met Britain's Culture, Media and Sports Minister Lisa Nandi. Regarding this, he gave information on the social media platform X and said that there was a good discussion with Lisa Nandi.
