Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who did not play in the Perth Test match against Australia, has started practicing for the upcoming matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Indian team will play a day-night Test match against Australia in the Adelaide Test on December 6. According to sources, Rohit Sharma will come out as an opener with Yashasvi Jaiswal in this Test match.

The Indian team will play a two-day practice match with the pink ball against the Prime Minister XI on Saturday. In this match, all eyes will be on Rohit Sharma who will try to get into rhythm. Rohit, struggling with poor form, is practicing hard with the pink ball in the nets.

According to a report, KL Rahul will be fielded to bat at number three after Rohit Sharma returns to the playing 11. In the Perth Test, KL Rahul and Jaiswal opened in Rohit's absence and shared a partnership of more than 200 runs in the second innings.

The prospect of playing the second Test match also appears bleak for batsman Shubman Gill, who has suffered a thumb injury. Gill is also doubtful about playing in the practice match. According to sources, Gill has not yet started batting fully in the nets. It will take a long time for him to get on the field.

Australia have called up Tasmania all-rounder Bo Webster into their squad as cover for Mitchell Marsh ahead of the Test against India in Adelaide. Marsh sustained an injury during the first Test match in Brisbane and his fitness remains in doubt. Webster scored 145 runs at 72.50 in the two unofficial Test series against India-A. He has also taken seven wickets. He also scored 61 and 49 against New South Wales as it comes to the recent Sheffield shield match, besides taking five wickets. Many believe that he holds talent enough to be one of their best slip fielders from day one.

Australian team: Pat Cummins (captain), Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Nathan McSweeney, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc and Bo Webster.
