Challans for breaking various traffic laws haven't actually been filed against the cars of these Lok Sabha candidates. Concerns like careless driving, failing to park, hopping traffic signals, and using the wrong number plates are all connected to these infractions.
It should be mentioned that in order to submit their election affidavit, candidates must pay all applicable fees. Numerous contenders, nevertheless, assert that they were not operating a vehicle at the time of the infraction.
Though some of the Lok Sabha candidates did not take advantage of the recent Telangana Police discount offer, others completed the application. Meanwhile, after paying their fees, a few candidates have gone on to commit new offenses.
Koppula Ishwar, the BRS candidate from Pedapalli Lok Sabha, has the highest number of pending challans of Rs 6,210 since 2019. Medak Lok Sabha candidate Neelam Madhu, the Congress candidate, has to pay a fine of Rs 3,305 pending for several months for speeding.
At the same time, a challan of Rs 3,105 for speeding is pending on Congress candidate from Zaheerabad, Suresh Kumar Shetkar, from December 2023.
