Bhaichung Bhutia furious after defeat to Hong Kong, accuses former legend of ruining Indian football
Baichung Bhutia on Indian Football Team: Baichung Bhutia has made serious allegations against the President of All India Football Federation after the defeat of Indian football team to Hong Kong and has demanded his resignation. He said that FIFA is a far cry, the team is now struggling to qualify for the Asia Cup.

Former Indian captain Baichung Bhutia on Wednesday accused the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and its president Kalyan Chaubey of ruining the game. The Indian team faced a 1-0 defeat against Hong Kong on Tuesday in the third round of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. Disappointed by this, Bhutia said, "it is very sad to see this." He added, "We are also struggling to qualify for the Asia Cup. Small countries like Uzbekistan and Jordan have qualified for the FIFA World Cup, and we are also struggling for the Asia Cup. This is unfortunate."
Bhutia stated, "AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey has ruined Indian football. Chaubey should resign. He has completely ruined this game. The entire structure and system need to be changed."
Referring to the ongoing legal battle between Inter Kashi and Churchill Brothers for the I-League championship, Bhutia remarked, "The image of Indian football has been tarnished by controversies and corruption allegations. Months have passed, but we do not know who is the I-League winner. The technical committee was also sidelined during the appointment of coach Manolo Marquez."
Bhutia also criticized the decision to bring star striker Sunil Chhetri back to international football from retirement, saying that it was a bad decision filled with desperation rather than planning. He noted, "Nothing is happening at the ground level. The performance of the national team is also being affected by negative news outside the field."
