The legendary industrialist and head of Tata Group Ratan Tata, who died on October 9, 2024 at the age of 86. Many industrialists and country leaders as well as people from abroad remembered him. One of them was Bill Ford, chairman of American automaker Ford. Bill Ford also spoke about their meeting that happened 2 years ago and the acquisition of JLR.

After Ratan Tata's death, Ford Group chairman Bill Ford remembered him. According to Bill Ford, Ratan Tata was a great visionary and an extremely honest leader. In addition to that, he proved himself an exceptionally good manager for Land Rover as well as Jaguar both. During 2008, Ford, a US-based vehicle manufacturer, owned Jaguar and Land Rover. Later, Tata Motors purchased JLR by paying US$2.3 billion in cash. This deal was made nine years after meeting Bill Ford. Then, due to the recession of 2008, JLR was on the verge of bankruptcy. But after Tata bought it, JLR introduced many great cars and SUVs into the market.

Ratan Tata died on 9 October 2024 after illness in a hospital in Mumbai. He was 86 years old and in 1990 he took over the chairman post of the group. After which he remained in his post till 2012. Between October 2016 and February 2017 he also took over the responsibility of interim chairman. Since 2017 he was the head of Tata Group Charitable Trust. In the year 2008, Ratan Tata was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, and even before this, he was awarded an honor like Padma Bhushan in the year 2000.
