'We are very happy with Apple's performance in India', said Apple CEO Tim Cook

Apple CEO Tim Cook has expressed happiness over the company's performance in India. The company has set a record revenue in India for the quarter ending March 2024. However, Apple's overall revenue has declined by 4% during this period. iPhone sales have also declined by 10%.

Tim Cook said, "We grew by double digits in India and so we're very pleased with that. This is a new record for March quarter revenue for us. As I've said before, I see India as an incredibly exciting market, and “This is a major area of focus for us.”

Apple's Chief Financial Officer Luca Maestri said, “We are particularly pleased with our strong momentum in emerging markets. We set first-half revenue records in several countries and regions, including Latin America, the Middle East, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Turkey.

Luca Maestri said, "We're delighted because these are markets where our market share is low, the population is large and growing, and our products are really making great strides in those markets. The excitement level for the brand is very high."

Tim Cook said that Apple is producing iPhones in India to remain competitive and the company's growth in the Indian market is linked to its operational expansion.

Apple CEO said that from a practical point of view, there is a need to produce there (in India) to be competitive. We have reached the Indian market and are taking the necessary steps. Let us tell you that in recent years, Apple has been working towards increasing its production capacity outside China. Apart from India, it is working with this goal in many other South Asian markets.
