To elaborate, the book seeks to offer not just an exploration of the spiritual practice of Yoga, the way of life that runs across religions such as Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism but also delves into the tale of Dakshinamurti or Lord Shiva, who is known as the creator of Yoga. Also, with the aim of bringing home the complex ambit of Yoga, Visudhha Prema briefly talks about topics such as Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga in a nuanced yet succinct manner. Highlighting the personal touch and interpretation that Jitavati has brought into her writing on Yoga stand two chapters of the book, namely ‘Yoga is Love’ and ‘Ignorance to Awareness’. With the aim of putting together a comprehensive guide to self-discovery and spiritual growth and awakening, the author also has in the chapter called ‘Perspectives’, shared the experiences of individuals from different age groups that illustrate the work’s overarching message.

She explained, “ I have since my early days been intrigued by the human experience, spirituality and the Indian religio-philosophical discourse, which, I strongly believe, is not limited to any doctrine but instead is a way of life. With age, as my interest in spirituality grew, I dedicated myself to reading more and more about the subject. Also, I have always been fascinated by words and the art of writing. Thus, as the culmination of two of my predominant interests, comes this novel, Visuddha Prema, which means pure love in Sanskrit. On that note, I would also like to add why I chose this title of the book: I strongly believe that the path of Yoga aligns beautifully with all those who have faith in pure love.”
