TB patients reduced in India by 17.7% from 2015 to 2023; PM Modi's important message on this
WHO: Referring to the figures, Health Minister JP Nadda said that the WHO has spoken of a 17.7 percent decline in TB incidence from 2015 to 2023 and has recognized India's tremendous progress in the fight against this disease. PM Modi also posted on this on Sunday.
The number of TB patients in India is rapidly declining. A World Health Organisation (WHO) report made this claim. This X report was also given by Union Health Minister JP Nadda. Prime Minister Modi has also made an important statement about India's efforts to combat the disease.
Commenting on a report released by the WHO on India's fight against TB infection, Nadda said the central government is committed to making India TB-free. Citing statistics, he said WHO has projected 17.7 percent decline in TB incidence from 2015 to 2023 and has recognized India's tremendous progress in the fight against the disease. He said that the rate of decline in TB cases in India is more than double the global rate of decline of 8.3% ".
He referred to the government's plans against TB and said that the patients affected with TB are given nutritional support, adding a new method of drug delivery had been brought in to deal with TB that had acquired resistance to many types of drugs. He congratulated the Health Ministry as well as health workers on the decline in the number of TB cases.
Reacting to this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X. He said, "Commendable progress! The decline in TB cases is a result of India's dedicated and innovative efforts. Through a collective spirit, we will continue to work towards a TB-free India."
