Shubman Gill may have performed brilliantly in this match. But during this time they made a big mistake. Due to this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken action against him. Gill has been fined 25 percent of his match fee for slow over-rate. Gill has been fined Rs 24 lakh under the IPL Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offenses, his team's second offense of the season, an IPL statement said. The remaining members of the playing eleven, including the impact players, were individually fined Rs 6 lakh or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever is less.'
In the 2024 Indian Premier League, the captain faces a mere Rs 12 lakh fine for the first slow over-rate infraction. The captain will be fined Rs 24 lakh instead of Rs 12 lakh and the team will only be fined Rs 12 lakh if the team makes the same error twice in the season. There will be penalties for other players as well. The team's remaining players will be fined Rs 6 lakh or 25% of the match fee (whichever is less) if this error is made twice. If the team commits this mistake for the third time, the captain will be banned for one match along with a fine of Rs 30 lakh and the rest of the team players will be fined Rs 12 lakh each or 50% of their match fee.
