PM Modi will inaugurate Surat Diamond Bourse, Varanasi will get projects worth Rs 19000 crore
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Surat and Varanasi on a two-day visit. PM Modi will first go to Surat today i.e. on 17th December and will inaugurate the world's largest office building Surat Diamond Bourse. Will also inaugurate the new airport terminal. After this, he will go to Varanasi in the evening where he will lay the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 19500 crore.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the world's largest office complex Surat Diamond Bourse today. Spread over 67 lakh square feet, this office complex has even overtaken America's Pentagon.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also present a small model of the office complex after inaugurating the Surat Diamond Bourse Bhawan complex.
A press release from the Prime Minister's Office said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Surat in Gujarat and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh today. At around 10:45 am, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new integrated terminal building at Surat Airport. After this, at around 11:15 am he will inaugurate the Surat Diamond Bourse.
After this, PM Modi will go to Varanasi and will participate in the 'Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra' at around 3.30 pm. After this, at around 5:15 pm, he will also inaugurate Kashi Tamil Sangamam 2023 at Namo Ghat.
PM Modi will inaugurate the new integrated terminal building at Surat Airport. The press release said the terminal building will be capable of handling 1,200 domestic passengers and 600 international passengers during peak hours and also has a provision to increase the peak hour capacity to 3,000 passengers. With this, the annual handling capacity is increasing to 55 lakh passengers.
The terminal building is the gateway to Surat city, hence it has been designed with local culture and heritage in mind. This has been done to create a sense of place for visitors. The facade of the terminal building aims to enrich the passenger experience with the rich and traditional woodwork of the old houses of the 'Rander' area of Surat city, the release said.
The new terminal building of the airport is equipped with various sustainability features like a double-insulated roofing system, canopies for energy saving, a double-glazing unit with low heat gain, a rain harvesting plant, a water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant.
PM Modi will inaugurate Surat Diamond Bourse. It will be the world's largest and most modern center for international diamond and jewelry businesses. Also, it will be a global hub for the trade of rough and polished diamonds as well as jewelry.
The exchange will include a state-of-the-art 'Customs Clearance House' for import-export, a jewelry mall for retail jewelry businesses, and a facility for international banking and secure vaults, the press release said.
In Varanasi, the Prime Minister will participate in the 'Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra' at Cutting Memorial School grounds. There the Prime Minister will interact with the beneficiaries of various government schemes like PM Awas, PM Swanidhi, and PM Ujjwala.
With his vision of One India, Best India, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Kashi Tamil Sangamam 2023 at Namo Ghat. The release said that on this occasion, PM Modi will also flag off the Kanyakumari-Varanasi Tamil Sangamam train.
On Monday, the Prime Minister will visit the Swaraveda Mahamandir at around 10:45 am, after which it will be inaugurated in a public ceremony at around 11:30 am. PM Modi will participate in the 'Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra' at around 1 pm. After this, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth more than Rs 19,150 crore in a public ceremony at around 2:15 pm.
