Parliament: Notice of contempt of the House to 5 BRS MPs, will have to reply before November 28

Rajya Sabha Secretariat has issued notices to five Rajya Sabha members of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS). He is accused of breach of privilege and contempt of the House during the recent special session of Parliament. This notice has been issued on the complaint of BJP Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Thakur. He has accused these five MPs of violating the rules of the House.

Parliament: Notice of contempt of the House to 5 BRS MPs, will have to reply before November 28

Rajya Sabha Secretariat has issued notices to five Rajya Sabha members of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS). He is accused of breach of privilege and contempt of the House during the recent special session of Parliament.

On behalf of the Rajya Sabha Speaker's Office, BRS MPs K. Keshav Rao, KT Reddy Suresh Reddy, Damodar Rao Divakonda, Vaddiraju Ravichandra, and Badugula Lingaiah Yadav have received this notice of breach of privilege for displaying placards against the rules in the House.

This notice has been issued on the complaint of BJP Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Thakur. He has accused these five MPs of violating the rules of the House.

Regarding the notice, the Privileges Committee said that it was considered under Rule 188 of the Rajya Sabha in the meeting held on November 8. Before taking this decision of action, the committee members expressed their views and made comments on this matter. After this, the committee accepted this complaint. All these BRS MPs have been asked to give their feedback and clarifications before November 28.
