Pahalgam Terrorist Attack: Full refund will be given by hotels and airlines, Central Government issued advisory
Pahalgam Terrorist Attack: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Central Government has issued an advisory to help the tourists stranded in Jammu and Kashmir or going there. In this advisory, hotels and airlines have been asked to provide many facilities, including waiving the cancellation fee charged on canceling the booking. The government is constantly making efforts for the safety and convenience of tourists.

After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, the Union Tourism Ministry has stepped forward to provide assistance to the stranded tourists in Jammu and Kashmir or travelling to the region. The Ministry issued an advisory to the tourist service operators and hoteliers within the nation on Wednesday, in which it has requested them to make every possible arrangement for ease, like waiving the cancellation charge levied upon cancelling the booking.
The ministry issued this instruction at a time when a sizeable group of tourists had been cancelling their reservations after the incident. In the meantime, Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has also made a statement informing about the steps being initiated to ensure the safety and convenience of the stranded or traveling tourists there after the incident.
He said that he and the ministry are in constant touch with the Chief Secretary and Tourism Secretary of the state. They are trying to reduce the setback to tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.
On Wednesday, the very next day of the Pahalgam massacre, Pakistan hatched a conspiracy of another bloody violence, which was foiled by the army. The army killed two terrorists who were infiltrating into Indian territory by crossing the LoC in the Uri sector of North Kashmir. A large amount of weapons and ammunition has also been recovered from the killed terrorists.
According to the internal tourist list released by the District Collector's Office of Pune, it has been confirmed that more than two thousand tourists from Pune are still in Jammu and Kashmir, many of whom have been stranded since this incident. By Wednesday afternoon, more than 356 tourists had sought assistance from the local District Information Office (DIO) for evacuation and safe return. This information was given by District Collector Jitendra Doodi on Wednesday.
The entire country is mourning the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam on Tuesday. The Supreme Court also condemned the attack in strong words on Wednesday. The court paid tribute to those killed in the attack and expressed condolences to their families and said that the whole nation stands with them in this hour of grief.
This is probably the first time when the siren sounded in the Supreme Court at the fixed time i.e. at 2 pm and the judges and registry staff and lawyers present in all the courts stood up and observed two minutes of silence and paid tribute to those killed in the terrorist attack. Not only this, for the first time the Supreme Court passed a resolution in the full court condemning the terrorist attack and expressing condolences to the victims.
