With 28 percent annual growth, the Indian agricultural drone market can reach $631.4 million by 2030. Currently, it is $145.4 million. India's share in the global agricultural drone market is currently 5.3 percent.

According to a report by FICCI and Ernst & Young, the drone and its parts industry can increase the country's manufacturing capacity to $23 billion by 2030.

Meanwhile, experts are of the view that India can gradually overcome its dependence on Chinese drones globally. "We are promoting the use of drones in agriculture and therefore started a pilot project with the local government bodies on more than 1500 acres of land to educate farmers about drones," said Pradeep Namdev, Group CEO, Prakhar Software Solutions. He further announced that the company wants to create 5,000 employment opportunities for women in drone-related fields by 2027. Prakhar partnered with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

Namdev further added, "There is a lot of potential for drones in India. Other than defense and national security, a lot of potential exists in agriculture and all other sectors." Prakhar is the only domestic drone manufacturer to have designed indigenous flight controllers and other components such as AI-based models and 3D printing.
